Zlatan Ibrahimovic said he has had an offer to join a Premier League club but refused to confirm whether it was Manchester United.
The 34-year-old is a free agent after leaving Paris St-Germain and has been heavily linked with United.
Asked if he had been made an offer by the Old Trafford club, he said: “Let’s see what happens.”
Jose Mourinho is set to be named United manager and he worked with the Swede for one season at Inter Milan.
The pair won the Serie A title in their time together in 2008-09 before Ibrahimovic moved on to Barcelona.
“He [Mourinho] is the man to bring them [Manchester United] back to the top,” said the Sweden international.
“I had fantastic time working with him. If we will work again I don’t know.”
Ibrahimovic is currently on international duty as his country prepare for Euro 2016 and says he has “many options”, including a return to Italy.
“There is concrete offers from the Premier League. But I don’t give guarantees,” he added.
